In a surprising collaboration that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the official release, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations echo through the obscurity." The narrative features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.

The adventure centers on "strange trials and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Additional Features

Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique implements
• Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Addition

This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

Past Japanese Animation Partnerships

This signifies not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime properties. The series previously included a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla unofficially included a quest that clearly echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
