In the course of a visit to Lichfield Cathedral on Monday, the King was shouted at by a individual who asked him about Prince Andrew's relationship with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The man inquired how long the King had been aware about his brother's association with Jeffrey Epstein, and also raised doubts about whether he had asked the authorities to "conceal" for Prince Andrew.

Despite the protest, there were crowds of fans and applause for the monarch, who was visiting Staffordshire for an engagement.

Prince Andrew's associations with Epstein have been under renewed focus in recent weeks. The prince, who gave up his titles earlier this month, has repeatedly denied any misconduct.

"For how long have you been aware about Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein? Did you request the police to cover up for Andrew?"

The King remained silent but continued meeting fans, some of whom shouted "God Save The King". One supporter can be heard requesting him for a embrace.

Another woman outside the venue was also observed telling the heckler to "go away" and to "shut up".

The scandal over the Duke of York's connections to Jeffrey Epstein has been brought back into focus by sexual abuse allegations repeated in Virginia Giuffre's recently released book.

But in recent times, fresh questions have been raised about how he is able to finance his way of life despite not being a active member of the royal family.

The revelation that he has only ever paid a token annual rent on his Windsor mansion has heightened the scrutiny over his housing situation - even though he made large payments up front, including for renovations.

The political party said he should be summoned before members of parliament to give testimony about his rental agreement of his lodge.

But last week, the authorities declined to give parliamentarians time to discuss the royal's titles or his home, despite increasing calls for scrutiny.

The royal household has not issued a statement on whether the Duke of York might relocate of his current residence - or where he might reside.
