19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former number one, has had a torrid period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's maiden trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Success also means he has won twenty-one titles at 21 different events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced service.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the final five games to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
